This impressive old map depicts the Duchy of Limburg and the County of Valkenburg—an area largely corresponding to present-day Dutch South Limburg and surrounding regions in Belgium and Germany. Dating from 1690 and created by Nicolaes Visscher, the map is oriented with north towards the top right, giving it a somewhat unusual perspective. It is embellished with two exquisite cartouches.

This edition (without text on the verso) was published exclusively in a composite atlas by Abraham Wolfgang, issued in Amsterdam around 1690.
