Ambon was an early headquarters for the VOC in Southeast Asia. Between 1610 and 1619, it served as the VOC's main headquarters; throughout the company's nearly 200-year rule, it remained a key Dutch settlement in the Spice Islands and a regional administrative hub based at Fort Victoria. The VOC captured the island from the Portuguese in 1605, establishing a center for their Southeast Asian operations that served as the primary base from 1610 until the founding of Batavia.

Very good condition. Some light age-related toning and minor repairs in the margins. Central fold as issued.
