Lovely and very detailed map of the Provence region in southern France with delightful banner title, coat of arms and mile stick. The map identifies important towns, fortifications, rivers, vineyards and villages throughout with beautifully rendered mountains and forests. In the top left, next to the title cartouche, the coat of arms of the French king. Signed by W. Blaeu at the bottom.
Published in 1635 in Amsterdam in ´Le Theatre du monde...´.
Good condition. Some light age browning en some small stains. Small repairs on the back in the area of the central fold, not affecting the image. Otherwise very good. Clear print. Wide margins. Nice hand coloring. Reverse side text in French.
