Highly detailed and very large 1682 copper engraving featuring a bird's-eye view of the city of Barcelonnette, in the department of Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, Southern France. The view shows the city with its buildings, churches, streets, gardens, town walls and surrounding landscape. A banner-style tile cartouche and a simple legend cartouche complete the sheet.

The view comes from Blaeu's works entitled "Theatrum statuum regiae celsitudinis Sabaudiae ducis, Pedemontii Principis, Cypri regis. Pars prima, exhibens Pedemontium, et in eo Augusta Taurinorum, & loca viciniora. Apud heredes Ioannis Bleu, Amstelodami" published in 1682.

Good condition. Some repairs in the back of the central fold, with minimal impact on the image. Wide margins, clear print.
