This well-known map of China, divided in provinces, the Korean Peninsula and surrounding areas is prepared by Jacques Nicolas Bellin.
It shows China, Korea, the islands Taiwan (Tay-wan ou Formose) and Haynan Island.
The map is very detailed for that time and also shows mountains, rivers, the Chinese wall and many important places, including Macau.
A nice title cartouche dated 1748 and 2 further cartouches with notes complete the map.
Published in 1748 in the highest quality first edition of Prévost d´Exiles ´Histoire General des Voyages…´
Reasonable to good condition. One repaired tear right under the top right cartouche (see picture), no serious impact on the map. Otherwise very good. Folds as issued. Beautiful hand coloring. Reverse side blank.
