Two bird's-eye views of Pozzuoli (Puteoli) above and Baia (Baiae) below. Both views show the two cities as located on the Gulf of Naples. The numerous ships around Pozzuoli reference its history as an important port, while in the view of Baia, the remains of an ancient Roman thermal bath can be seen.
Published in 1575 in Cologne in 'Civitates orbis Terrarum: Urbium praecipuarum totius mundi Liber tertius (...).' Volume 3 book of cities Braun & Hogenberg.
Excellent condition. Beautiful hand colouring. Ample margins. Central fold, as issued. The other side has text in Latin.
