Lovely map of the region around the city of Metz, decorated with delightful title cartouche, mile stick and several coats of arms. The North (Luxembourg) is towards the right. The map identifies important towns, fortifications, rivers, vineyards and villages throughout with beautifully rendered mountains and forests. Shows the course of the Moselle River between Pont-a-Mousson and Thionville with Metz in the center.
Signed by Willem and Johan Blaeu in the bottom right corner.
Very good condition. Some light age browning around the edges. Clear print. Very wide margins. Nice hand coloring. Reverse side text in French.
