The famous Blaeu map of Ireland. It shows the Emerald Isle in extraordinary detail, including towns, lakes, mountains, rivers, castles, woods, islands, etc. Embellished with a large decorative coat of arms, decorative title cartouche including the Irish Harp, and scale of miles, with Blaeu's signature prominently engraved in the lower left.
This early edition of this map was published in the first French edition of "Atlas Novus," the atlas by William Blaeu, Amsterdam, 1635.
Very good condition. Some minor repairs and reinforcements of the central fold, not affecting the image. Otherwise excellent. Thick paper, clear print and wide margins. Reverse side text in French
