Chief Tereoboo (King Kalani'opu'u) of Hawaii bringing gifts to Captain Cook. The king and his entourage on a large catamaran canoe with crab-claw mast and sail. Two double-hull canoes follow, powered by 20 oarsmen, laden with carved idol figures. The coast line from Palemano Point to Kealakekua with coconut groves and houses. Published in the 1774 French edition of Hawkesworth's 1773 account of Cook's voyages.
It follows the 1772-1773 English edition engraved by William Whitchurch and published in 1773.
