A decorative and rare detailed copper engraved map of the Morea or Peloponnese, published at when it was in the tenuous possession of Venice. The large pictorial title cartouche features the sword-brandishing Lion of Venice with a group of Turkish prisoners, commemorating the Venetian triumph against the Ottoman Empire in 1688. A very fine example. Made by N. Visscher and published in Amsterdam around 1690 (the victory by the Venetians was in 1688). Large folio format.
