Map of Valencia, oriented with north to the right. It belongs to the first French edition of "Atlas Novus," the atlas by William Blaeu, Amsterdam, 1635.

A highly decorative map centered on Valencia, extending south to Murcia and Orihuela and north to Cenia. The map is adorned with sea monsters, ships, compass roses, and an ornate cartouche bearing the coat of arms of Valencia. The map is very detailed and includes many place names, towns, and smaller settlements. Latin text is on the reverse. The map provides many details, such as the names of cities and towns, castles and monasteries, rivers, lakes, forests, and mountains.
