View of the Munttoren, also known as De Munt (The Mint), officially called the Regulierstoren (Regular Tower) and formerly part of the Regulierspoort (Regular Gate). This city gate was one of the three main gates of Amsterdam's medieval fortifications. The gate was named after the Reguliersklooster (Regular Monastery) (1394-1532). This monastery stood at the site of what is now the Keizersgracht canal, outside the Regulierspoort. View from what is now the Bloemenmarkt (Flower Market), across the Singel canal towards the Munttoren.
