A very large copper engraving of a map of Zeeland. West at the top. A symbolic title cartouche features, among other things, Neptune with trident, the Zeeland coat of arms, and fruits of the harvest in the upper right. The cartouche is surrounded by clouds. A frame with the scale bars appears in the lower cloud. There are also two compass roses. The map is very detailed and shows not only the county of Zeeland, but also Zeeuws Vlaanderen and the South Holland islands.

Published in the "Nieuwe Cronyk Van Zeeland,..." by Matthaeus Smallegange (*1624; †1710), edited by Johannes Mertens, Middelburg, 1696.

Very good condition. Very nice copy. Some minor repairs/reinforcements in of the folds on the back, without impact on the image.
