A beautiful, very finely engraved early 18th-century panorama, based on the work of Wouter Schouten, depicting the Central Javanese city of Jepara with several ships in the foreground. Buildings line the beach. The title is written at the top in a banderole.

Jepara is a city in the province of Central Java, Indonesia. Jepara is located on the north coast of Java, northeast of Semarang, not far from Mount Muria.

Published in Constantin Renneville's ´Recueil des voyages qui ont servi a l'etablissement et aux progres de la Compagnie des Indes Orientales, ... tome 2´, first published in 1703.

Reasonable/good condition. Folds as published. Small repair in lower left corner, partially redrawn. Otherwise excellent.
