Early plan of the city, the fort of Cape Town, with details about the very important gardens of the Dutch East Indies Company (VOC). On the bottom an extensive list of the most important sites and locations keyed to the plan with letters.
Map made by J.N. Bellin and engraved by Van der Schley. Published in 1749 in The Hague by De Hondt in the more rare international edition, with text in Dutch and French, of Prevost d´Exiles´ ´Histoire Generale des Voyages´.
Very good condition. Thick paper, very clear print. Some minimal age browning in the central fold, otherwise excellent.
