Item number: 24 13 EG

This superb large-scale map covers part of the southern coast of Brittany showing the towns of Quimper and Concarneau, including the Glénan Islands and the island of Groix.

Very detailed chart with numerous depth soundings, harbours and towns along the coasts, reefs and shoals. The towns shown with little houses. With a compass rose, a key explaining the symbols, three distance scales, and rhumb lines. This is the very large nautical map, not the reduced version of later date.

Published in 1757 in Paris by ´Dépôt des cartes et plans de la Marine´, made by J.N. Bellin. These maps were considered the absolute best available nautical maps of the days.

Good condition. Lower left corner repaired, some small repaired tears in the margins. Some minimal age browning. Otherwise excellent. Very thick paper, clear print.
