Beautiful, large 18th-century copper engraving depicting a view of the volcanic island of Ternate in the North Moluccas, with several ships in the foreground. Buildings line the beach. Lava and a thick cloud of smoke rise from the volcano (Gunung Gamalama). Index in French and Dutch at the bottom.
