The map shows Amsterdam in 1613. The city has already grown beyond the Singel canal and the Kloveniersburgwal, including the Waag (weigh house). Furthermore, the expansion of the eight ropewalks and the twelve bulwarks in the west, as well as the Leidsegracht canal, is shown. The planned expansion in the east is dotted.
